L Makeup Institute students and graduates in good standing have access to ongoing career advice, career services and networking opportunities, as well as continuous career placement assistance. Additionally, our curriculum places a great deal of emphasis on how to obtain and retain employment after graduation including job resources and websites where they can receive notifications of job postings. We invite employers as guest speakers and include employers as part of our Professional Advisory Committee to solicit input regarding relevant graduate employability skills. Students also receive training in professionalism and job search skills including the importance of social media and setup, how to write a resume, how to complete an employment application and prepare for an effective interview or audition. Upon completion, the L Makeup Institute notifies employers of graduating classes and graduates are added to a job group email distribution list and Job Board where paid job and non-paid or test opportunities are regularly communicated. In many cases the L Makeup Institute gets specific requests from employers for our graduates. In addition, students and graduates are also able to participate, when available, in experiential learning opportunities. These are great environments to gain experience while building portfolios and resumes.
