Become a professional Makeup Artist today! The L Makeup Institute offers classes in all makeup styles – Theatrical, Editorial, Beauty, Special Effects, Airbrush, and Body Painting. Our Programs and Courses are open to individuals who are US citizens, permanent residents or individuals with a valid study visa or work permit and must be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent and have proof of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Candidates must be able to speak, write, and comprehend English. A valid photo ID and transcript will be required prior to the start of class.
Physical requirements: Basic motor skills including use of both arms and ability to see close-up. Effectively communicate with clients on desired look.
Employer requirements: Ability and confidence to audition. Demonstrate technical training in makeup artistry. Possess knowledge in makeup artistry terms, supplies, personal hygiene and sanitation.
Programs and courses are limited in size and booked on a first come, first serve basis. At the L Makeup Institute we are committed to helping candidates select the area of study that will best help them reach their occupational goals. For this reason, we recommend that candidates consult with the Admissions Office prior to submitting their application. To enroll in any program or course, the candidate must complete a Student Application Form and pay a $100 application fee. In order to complete the enrollment process, applicants must attend a one-on-one interview and return their signed enrollment agreement and supporting documents at least three days prior to the start of class.
As part of the enrollment process, all applicants are interviewed to assess their artistic potential, professionalism, communication skills, passion, and commitment to become a Makeup Artist. Additionally, the applicant will be asked to disclose any allergies, physical, mental, and/or learning disabilities that may impact the applicant’s ability to complete the course of study selected or meet any job or employment requirements. The L Makeup Institute will make every reasonable effort to accommodate the applicant. The L Makeup Institute has set a high standard for our students and graduates. If we determine during the interview process the applicant has not met our expectations, we reserve the right to deny enrollment.
